An empowering message about how to love yourself for who you are.

This is a book about belonging. It tackles what it’s like when you feel like you belong to a group or family or team, and what it’s like when you don’t. It addresses what it feels like when you don’t fit in, or when others don’t want you around. This book teaches kids how to belong to themselves and how that helps them belong anywhere.

Kevin (he/him) is an author and creative catalyst who brings a playful curiosity, an avid intellect, a keen understanding of human nature, and a lifelong love of competition to all of his creative endeavors. He sees humanistic potential and possibilities everywhere.

Highly recommend

We own several of the A Kids Co. books, but this is the one I keep coming back to the most. It has even helped me think about my own self-understanding as an adult! My children have been internalizing its messages in new ways as they grow, and it was one of the books I selected to read to a class of first graders. My kid's classmates loved it and begged to borrow all of the books I brought. Of course, by the end of the school year, this was the one that had been passed around so much that it got lost. I didn't mind, though. I hope it is serving another child and their friends well wherever it is. I got another copy!

Perfect book for kids becoming tweens

Younger children are so beautifully not self-conscious BUT then all of a sudden they become self-aware that are others are watching them and they being to worry about what others think. This is a perfect book to share just before/as the begins to happen to promote not only self-confidence but also nonjudgement of others.

A Kids Book About Belonging

I bought this book for my Pre-School/Pre-K classroom. They loved it. It really helped them to understand what it means to belong, and that it's okay if you don't belong to a group. It taught them the beginning of empathy and that is so important. I loved every page of this book!
