A personal story of depression and how the author found help.

This is a book about depression. It doesn’t shy away from the complexities of depression or what getting help might look like. It gives an honest perspective into what depression feels like, what life looks like with it, and the hope that comes with being known and being loved through it.

Kileah (she/her) is a writer, musician, knitter, and lover of all things Middle Earth. She and her husband raise hobbits and chickens in the verdant wilds of Washington State.

If parents are totally unable to discuss depression with their kids this probably would help, but it somehow seems to miss the mark. I don’t think it really addresses the recurring thoughts where you mentally berate yourself for real or imagined bad things you’ve done.

So helpful

We just read this to help my oldest understand my husbands situation more clearly. The descriptions of what depression feels like were really helpful and opened up a great conversation. Thank you!
