An honest exploration of the symptoms of anxiety and what learning to manage it can look like.

This is a book about anxiety. Having anxiety doesn’t just mean you feel nervous sometimes or need to calm down. It means having an uncontrollable feeling that gets in the way of what you normally do. This book explores what anxiety is like and what life can look like when you’re able to manage to live with anxiety.

Ross Szabo is an award-winning pioneer of the youth mental health movement. During his 8 years as Director of Outreach at the National Mental Health Awareness Campaign, he helped create the first youth mental health speakers’ bureau in the country and personally spoke to over one million people. He is currently the Wellness Director at Geffen Academy at UCLA and CEO of the Human Power Project. He’s using both of these opportunities to change the way communities learn about mental health.

Love this book

I love the approach to the topic. It's very relatable and at a decent level for most ages to understand.

My Students LOVED this book

My 1st grade students loved this book and it sparked a lot of important conversations One of my students said she feels happy a lot but something else that doesn’t feel happy is in her body. They were also super in to the same story being retold and the heartbeat lines.

Nails anxiety correctly

This book does an incredibly good job at "visualizing" and accurately describing anxiety. Anxiety is more than just nervousness. And how it impacts life is very different. Frankly this book is not only great for kids, but for adults as well

Won’t keep a 5yo’s attention

The story or rather the concepts in this book are good. Unfortunately it’s not really a story as I was expecting and the images are lacking.
This book is not really useful for my 5yo but I hope that it might be in the future. It doesn’t keep his attention. I understand I’m to review the book with him but that does not help his attention span.
