A Kids Book About Cancer

This book offered wonderful support to the child of a parent I was coaching, who was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. From the book, she made a video that she shared with her class. It answers the questions that kids are worried about - Is Cancer contagious? It really helped her process and understand her father's diagnosis, during an extremely difficult and life changing time.

Really helpful, straightforward, and honest book

This isn’t a book I ever wanted to buy, but I’m so thankful that it’s here. Cancer is hard for adults to talk about, never mind explaining a diagnosis like that to kids. This book is open, honest, factual, and straightforward. It allowed my kids to ask some of the questions they needed to, and opened up the ability for our family to have good conversations about hard topics. Recommend.

Accessible, informative book for school-aged kids

I was diagnosed with cancer and have a school-aged child. This book has been a gentle way for my 7-year-old to learn about the basics of cancer. It is informative and answers some of her critical questions -- what is cancer? is it contagious? do people die of cancer? The book's language is honest and gentle, not scary or overly sad. My child reads it to herself and uses it to ask additional questions. I have been very happy to have this as an additional resource while we navigate a challenging time.

Exactly what I needed

My daughter’s best friend was just diagnosed with leukemia. How do you explain that to a five year old? A Kids Book About, that’s how. Seriously came straight here, and it delivered. Clear, concise, unemotional. Thank you!
