She is all about community, human connection, and being so authentically herself that others feel safe and empowered to do the same.

A needed book for all ages!

Such a sweet, accessible books that should be in every school library! Our culture is so focused on individualism and nuclear family units, and it was refreshing to read a kid’s book that focused on love, community and the idea that you can find your people anywhere. Thank you for writing this Madi!

The interactive portion of this book allows kids (and adults!) a chance to understand the importance of meaningful connections, and identify those in their life that support all parts of themselves. Highly recommended!!

With vibrant illustrations/word art and clear language, this book navigates the complex concept of chosen family with grace and authenticity. This gem highlights the importance of belonging and being loved and seen for who you are. One of the best parts of the book is the ten interactive questions that help identify people in our lives who make us feel the most like us!
