Learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, its effects on those who have it, and how to show love to someone living with it.

Alzheimer’s can be a big and scary-sounding word, especially if you know someone who has it. It’s a disease that affects every part of daily life and impacts everyone: those who have it and the people who love them. This book lets kids know what Alzheimer’s is and what it can look like, as well as offers support and encouragement for kids (and grownups) who love someone with Alzheimer’s.

Tanya Iovino (she/her) and Kiki Kouris (she/her) are passionate advocates for Alzheimer’s awareness and work to support those impacted by the disease. They honor the memory of their yiayia (grandmother) who passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2011. They hope this book brings you comfort.

I hope you love reading this book as much as I loved writing it! I hope that this book can be a resource for families dealing with a loved one's diagnosis. Even if your family doesn't know anyone with Alzheimer's or other related dementias, this can help your family have thought-provoking conversations. Kids are ready and resilient!

Educational book

We received our copy about a month ago and this book is well written. Children can read this book and get an understanding for this disease. But writing it from the author’s personal experience can help teach adults what they may encounter and give them a direction of how to handle their situation.
